My Journey at Amazing Edibles

By Enzo Vanzillotta

First of all, let me introduce myself: My name is Enzo Vanzillotta, I’m from Porto Alegre, Brazil, and I’m a senior from Cornell College in Iowa, majoring in Business Finance. This summer I gave up on my vacations back home and accepted the opportunity to be the Sales and Marketing intern for Amazing Edibles Catering.

My journey at AE lasted 8 weeks and as today is my last day here, I’m very happy to say that I feel accomplished and very glad that I accepted to immerse myself in this opportunity. Coming from a third world country and having my first professional experience here in the windy city is something that I’m very proud of and I’m very content that it was at Amazing Edibles.

In my first week I was introduced to everyone and to the daily tasks that I’d be working on in the next weeks. I had the opportunity to work with some amazing people, everyone was very welcoming and willing to help me to adapt and accomplish my duties. I’ve worked a lot with Jonathan, our other Marketing intern, a very smart student from the University of Chicago, who has been very friendly and fun to work with.  We did several projects together, combining ideas and dividing tasks in order to have a better outcome for the project.

As a sales and marketing intern, I had different types of projects everyday, ranging from forecasting revenue and updating sales data to creating posts for the Instagram account and writing blog posts, like this one. As a finance student, the sales duties were my favorites, but I enjoy working with marketing and coming up with strategies to reach more clients and interact with them, so it was a pretty good opportunity for me to develop skills in both areas.

During this eight weeks I had the chance to attend different important events like corporate events, business expos, bridal bites, cooking classes and wedding tastings,  where I could interact directly with clients and network with them. I’m very glad that I got the chance to work with a successful and well-known entrepreneur like Andrea, she taught me a lot about how to take care of a business and how to interact with clients. I’ll always be very thankful to her for allowing me to have all these great experiences in the past eight weeks.

Overall, I enjoyed a lot working here and I hope I get to see my co-workers again, and I’m sure that Amazing Edibles will keep growing and expanding on this business, it feels good to work for a company when you know that everyone is willing to improve and the company its getting bigger every year.
